Comeback for health deal?
JERSEY has moved a step closer to reinstating its reciprocal health agreement with the UK, after the Isle of Man successfully negotiated to retain its deal.
The Isle of Man development, announced yesterday, means that any Isle of Man resident visiting the UK gets free healthcare, and vice versa for UK residents visiting the island.
Jersey’s reciprocal health arrangement with the UK was terminated in April last year by the previous Labour government.
Senator Alan Breckon is now calling on Health Minister Anne Pryke to increase the pressure on UK ministers to get the same deal for Jersey by January next year.

Jersey and Guernsey officials are now in talks with the UK Goverment about some form of reciprocal health agreement with the UK, to restore free healthcare for visitors to and from the mainland. The Health and Social services Minister Hunter Adam says even if an agreement is made you should still make sure you have insurance «
