Tomorrow is D-Day on £65 million budget cuts
Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf.
AN unprecedented package of tax rises and public sector cuts is to be revealed tomorrow in one of the most feared Budget statements for decades.
By tomorrow afternoon ministers will have revealed which States services are being lined up for the axe as part of the £65 million savings programme.
They will also outline which taxes they are proposing to increase to raise £45 million to stabilise the States’ recession-hit balance sheet.
Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf will first outline the proposals to States Members at a briefing at 9.30 am before publicly announcing the budget at midday. (from JEP)
