Countdown to the Sportingbet Sports Awards
The countdown is on to one of the biggest nights of the year for Channel Island sport.
The Sportingbet Sports Awards will take place on the 27th January 2011 at Beau Sejour in Guernsey.
It is the Sportingbet Sports Personality of the Year Award that is the most coveted sports title in the Islands - And it was Guernsey's Heather Watson that took it home last year. But who will take the title this year? That is where you come in...
From now you can put forward your nominations for this year's Sports Personality of the Year award. And it can be anybody who you think deserves to win. A shortlist will then be selected by a panel of judges and then it is over to you, the public, to pick your winner.
Jo Wyatt from Sportingbet, said: "I think it's very special, because the general public come out and they support the teams and the individuals each year. So it's great for them to have a voice and that they can pick up the phone and be able to vote."
It isn't just the main award that you can nominate for. There are other trophies which include the Junior Team of the Year, State Street Team of the Year and the NatWest Rising Star who will also receive a bursary from the sponsor.
To make your nominations head to our Channel Island Sports Awards page.
Last year, it was Tottenham Hotspur Manager Harry Redknapp who was the main man on the night and a superstar is set to be named to be the guest speaker this year.
