Islanders see red
THE National Trust for Jersey is facing a fierce backlash after Islanders saw red over its decision to paint the historic White House green.
The organisation recently repainted the building in St Ouen’s Bay as part of a year-long campaign to encourage more people to act in an environmentally friendly way.
But just hours after the new-look olive-green White House was unveiled the trust was inundated with complaints from angry Islanders.
St Peter Deputy Collin Egré, who has led the opposition, has accused the trust of ‘playing with Jersey’s heritage for promotional reasons’ and demanded that the organisation repaints the building. (from JEP)
