We too have friends in the area. They are not responding to e-mails, so I presume they have moved out.

Re: Toowoomba - Queensland
We were in this area in March last year when it flooded. It was supposed to be a once in a lifetime flood then, but this one is even worse.
We were stuck in St. George's and Toowoomba was the first place we reached when we were eventually able to get out of St. George's. It was incredibly frightening, I can't imagine what these people are going through now.
My heart goes out to all those that have lost loved ones and also to those that have lost their homes and belongings.
