Plastic bags: We must pay GST on the 5p
TREASURY Minister Terry Le Sueur will not waive the GST collected from sales of plastic carrier bags, despite the fact that retailers will donate all the proceeds to charity.
The Senator defended his decision by saying that Jersey had been more generous to charities with exemptions on the new sales tax than many other jurisdictions.
Tax everything I say... well at least that what Jersey States want to do...

Who runs your island then the same bunch who run Guernsey………..Giba and the masons. Is it true there are only 4,500 real locals left in Jersey and that number is dropping daily???
Don't worry we here in Guernsey will have GST by 09/10 and nothing will be done by the community in stopping this tax which will destroy our local small businesses and local retail industry and impact on middle/low earners and the elderly. This will please the English no end. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer!!!
