A few suggestions to help you plan the next few weeks...
Family fun

The Guernsey Camerata has a family concert on Sunday 6 February called Devils, Fairies and Monsters at St James from 1430. The programme features the work of Ravel, Sibelius and Vaughan-Williams.
Exhibitions and arts

Reclassified is the latest exhibition at the Guernsey Arts Commission's Greenhouse gallery in the Information Centre. More than 20 works are being displayed inspired by newspaper classified advertisements. The exhibition has been produced by Adam Roberts and runs until 31 March.

  • The national Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition entries are on display at the Guernsey Museum at Candie Gardens until 17 April.

Outdoor

The Alderney Wildlife Trust are busy tidying up Alderney as February begins. On Wednesday 2 February the Trust will be working on the Wildlife Bunker at the Vau du Saou Nature Reserve.
On Saturday 5 February work continues to control the brown tail moth population. If you want to volunteer to help you can meet members of the Trust at Essex Farm Field Centre at 1400 on the day of the event.

  • The Guernsey Conservation Volunteers undertake work throughout the year on many aspects of natural life in Guernsey. They are always after new volunteers and you can find out more at their website .
  • The Farmers' and Fishermen's Market takes place every Saturday morning at St Martin's Community Centre. The Castel Farmers' Market takes place every other Saturday morning at the Fairfield or Friquet Garden Centre, depending on the weather. The St Peter's Country Market takes place every Wednesday morning in the Community Hut behind St Peter's Post Office.

Music

Fundraising for the GBG Volume 3 compilation album continues on Saturday 5 February as SugarSlam, Urban Wendy and Jamie-Lee take to the stage at the Fermain Tavern. Find out how to submit music for GBG Volume 3.

In its 81st year the annual Guernsey Eisteddfod returns to Beau Sejour for a mix of competitions including English and Guernsey French speech, drama and music (Thu 3 Mar - Sat 2 Apr)Like this why not try...

  • There's a chance to behind the scenes of a museum at Castle Cornet with the Europe-wide Nuit de la Musees (Museums at Night) event including guided tours, talks from curators, a look into the museum store and family activities (Fri 13 May)
  • Annie Barrows, the co-author of the Guernsey Potato Peel Pie Peel Society, is among the guests at the Arts Commission's Guernsey Literary Festival (Thu 12 - Sun 15 May)
