Barking dogs can make you ill
Dog owners are being given advice about nuisance issues when they buy their annual dog licences in Jersey.
Health Protection staff have been working with the parishes to raise awareness about nuisance dogs and particularly, the noise from barking.
Interim Head of Health Protection, Val Cameron said: "Persistent noise nuisance can be very stressful and can eventually lead to ill-health for those continuously exposed to it. The department receives numerous complaints every year about barking dogs. In the majority of cases, responsible dog owners take the necessary measures to stop the nuisance, although occasionally, we have no alternative than to serve a statutory nuisance notice to resolve the problem."
This year, Health Protection staff have been working closely with the parishes so that dog owners buying a licence will be provided with the department's guidance on barking dogs.

Re: Barking dogs can make you ill
As a lifetime dog owner - in my opinion the only dogs who bark are the ones who are left alone and not treated well i.e loved....and it is not their fault - children in the same environment would be the same (not barking - but causing a fuss)
karma-
