The search is on for Miss Alderney 2011

The search is on for Miss Alderney 2011, as the contest comes early this year and also goes online.
The Alderney Week team has decided to move the date of the contest forward to Easter Saturday, the 23rd of April.
It usually takes place on the Saturday of the last May Bank Holiday weekend - however upon speaking to past and potential candidates, it was realised that the girls could not commit to being on-island for the Bank Holiday weekend.
The contest, now in its 63rd year, will also be made less formal. Previously the candidates were interviewed in front of a panel of judges, which has now been deemed "daunting" for the girls competing.
Instead it will now be using the internet - all contestants must complete the Miss Alderney 2011 Entry Form (found on www.alderneyweek.net) together with a head and shoulders and full length photograph of themselves.
Entries should be submitted no later than 20th April, and candidates must be aged between 17 and 25. All entries are considered strictly confidential.
The winner will be crowned on the 23rd of April, and recieve prizes including £300 cash.
