Save the heart unit that saved my Jake

A GUERNSEY mum says she owes her son’s life to a children’s cardiac unit in Southampton that is threatened with closure.

Holly Guy, 24, said when her son Jake, now 5, was born with life-threatening heart defects, he was in the best possible hands.

Although it is the second-highest performing of all the UK centres that provide the service, the unit is under threat because of NHS cuts.

She wants islanders to sign a petition calling for it to stay open. (from GEP)
