Fourth Co-op En Route to be in St Andrew’s
THE retail section of the new St Andrew’s Garage will become a Co-op shop, it has been revealed.
Milton Produce owner Nigel Stewart said the Co-operative Society made an approach just before New Year to acquire the shop and forecourt of the development.
‘It had always been our intention to run the shop and forecourt alongside the existing wholesale fruit and vegetable business,’ he said.
‘However, in light of the approach and the recent new and increased level of competition in the retail food sector, it made commercial sense to sell to the Co-operative Society, which has a wealth of expertise in the local food and fuel industry. We wish them all the success in the future.’ (from GEP)
