This year's Sark Folk Festival promises to be the biggest yet.

The festival has moved to a new site near La Moinerie on the west of the island. There will be three stages and so far 51 acts have been booked.

As well as the main festival site, split across two fields, there will be performances at 'The Nook by the Brook' - an ancient quarry in the granite cliffs that descend to the shore below the main festival site.

There will be visiting artists from all over the world, along with local acts from across the Channel Islands.

Highlights include:

Emily Smith - one of the leading singers of the Scottish contemporary folk scene; and James Findlay, the- Dorset-based traditional singer, fiddler and guitarist. Findlay was the winner of the New Roots national competition for up-and-coming folk performers in 2008. He also won the 2010 BBC Young Folk Award final at the BBC Theatre in December 2009.

Festival-goers will be encouraged to use the local Guernsey French patois and there will also be a a best folk beard contest!

The three-day festival starts on Friday 1 July. (from CTV)
