HSSD: Le Lievre quits and so does Brehaut
TWO members of Health and Social Services will step down and there are calls for the rest of the board to follow suit.
Deputy HSSD minister Andrew Le Lievre yesterday wrote to minister Hunter Adam confirming his decision and member Barry Brehaut also said that he would step down.
There are now calls for the remaining board members – Deputies Adam, Peter Gillson and Mary Lowe – to resign so that the department can operate under a fresh mandate until the end of the current term.
The resignations follow a debate in the States last week over the long-term funding for the redevelopment of Maison Maritaine and Longue Rue homes for the aged. (from GEP)
