NEARLY 100 angry passengers were left stranded yesterday after Condor Vitesse bypassed Guernsey and went straight to Jersey instead.
People waiting to travel there said they were not told that the vessel was going there first because it risked missing the tide.
Some 90 passengers and 25 cars were affected and Condor said it would pay compensation.
Condor Ferries Guernsey director Ian Milner said: ‘A technical fault on Condor Vitesse, which was already operating on reduced power, made it necessary to call into Jersey first to avoid the service being disrupted by the Jersey harbour tidal restrictions.’ (from GEP)

CONDOR’S poor service will do untold damage to local tourism if it continues over the summer, two self-catering business owners have warned.
Services yesterday were again delayed by up to an hour. The problems follow hours of delays and a cancellation during the weekend as the ferry company struggled to keep to its schedule.
Linda Letten has run the six Wisteria self-catering cottages in King’s Mills for six years – following 20 years running other guest accommodation. (from GEP)
