Music festival goes bust

THE company behind the eco-friendly Grassroots Festival has ceased trading because of financial difficulties.

All future festivals have been cancelled and creditors owed money will be contacted soon, the directors of Allez-oop Promotions said.

It is thought that the company’s problems were caused when a large sponsor pulled out of their upcoming Groundswell Festival in France, causing the event to be cancelled and an announcement that all tickets would be refunded.

Thousands of Islanders attended the fourth annual Grassroots Festival at Val de la Mare Reservoir this year, where headliner Seasick Steve topped the bill. (from JEP)
