please explain

Please can anyone explain to me why with over 300 unemployed in Guernsey we have to import somebody from the other side of the world to fill sandwiches. Who then on his time of can walk around town stabbing a local man protecting his girlfriend. When this charming young man has completed his sentence he must be deported.

He will be or before ,that way we will not have to keep him in our prison..
i also wonder how he found work with out a license

Plenty around like that, kat. Will be even more as Housing tighten up on licences.

If a business cannot get local staff because of full employment and Housing will not give a licence, it is very tempting to take on illegal workers, particularly when a business could go bust if they don't.

To be fair half the ones on unemployment I wouldn't want filling my sandwhiches or anywhere near food full stop.

sadly because of human rights legislation nobody can be deported unless they agree to it .

sorry plimmerton but how would you know that..when was the last time you visited the guernsey unemployment office..yes there are people who are unemployable but there are also people there who would work at almost anything to get off the dole...i think you are being rather unkind to these people x

My wife has recently started a job, the 1st for 16 years as she has been a housewife and mother. She had no cv, no previous experience, no references etc.

She found a job in less than a week, only 3 people applied, the other 2 never turned up for the interview.

Where are these hoards who are looking for work?
