Jersey Hospice is looking for green fingered islanders to sponsor and plant flower beds in their newly landscaped gardens.

As part of the overall refurbishment of the Hospice, the gardens have been redesigned to form the island's largest therapeutic garden.

The gardens are made up of 18 new flower beds and a meditation garden.

So far half of the flower beds have been planted by corporate sponsors, and it's hoped the remainder could be completed by May.

Hospice Chief Executive Steve Harvey said "The gardens are an integral part of Clarkson House and are thoroughly appreciated by our patients and their visitors. The stunning views across St Aubin’s bay played a huge part in our decision to redevelop Clarkson House on its existing site rather than relocating."

There are seven flower beds remaining and it's thought planting them will cost between £1,800 and £13,500.

Willing teams will be required for one or two half days over the next six weeks depending on the resources available and the type of bed chosen. All planting will be supervised by Jersey Hospice Care's gardener Blair Talibard.
