New plan needed to tackle Guernsey parking problems
There are calls for a new plan to tackle St Peter Port's parking problems.
Nearly a hundred people turned out to a public meeting last night, looking at the main issues facing the town.
Retailers want better parking for customers, and say at the moment it is hurting their business.
St Peter Port Retailer Barry Dodd, said: "There are not enough car park spaces and also enough time with the ones we have for people to shop without disappearing back to move the car before they obviously get a ticket.
"That is quite serious, we find this often happening, people diving out the door, they don't want to get a ticket, they're gone, you've lost the sale."
