MAYER; Dominic Peter Dominic-Mayer-225x300

My name is Dominic Mayer and having grown up on the Island, I wish to stand for the forthcoming elections in order to help put your views across to the other members of the States.

This is the first time I am putting myself forward for this role, and whilst I may not have the political experience of other candidates, I feel I can bring analytical and lateral thinking to this position.

I am currently employed by Flybe aviation services as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer, act as a company Director of our local family business and also coach ‘minis’ football (age 4 -6).

As an Islander, all matters affecting our beautiful island have an impact on my life, just as they do you. I have strong opinions on matters addressed by the States and commit to being an honest representative of our Parish. I will put all concerns voiced to me forward to the States. It is vital that we work together for the good of the island as a whole.

If elected I will stand true to my word and work for the benefit of our community.

The main areas to be addressed being as follows:

  • Education: the Mulkerrin Review needs to be implemented.
  • Government: should become more open and transparent with island wide voting. Accountability is also key.
  • Environment: create a full waste management strategy from recycling to sewage.
  • Well being: from cradle to grave and so should look to a type of Corporate social responsibility for the care of our people.
  • Economy: needs to be robust with more diverse employers. E business should be encouraged.
  • If elected I will need your continued feedback, in order that together we may help our Island to evolve, develop and prosper. Please consider your vote carefully on 18th April 2012.
