Traffic lights for Guernsey Airport work Empty Traffic lights for Guernsey Airport work

New traffic lights will be put in place on two major roads as part of an £80m redevelopment of Guernsey Airport.

The lights are being put in as trucks will carry the 350,000 tonnes of material needed for work on the runway.

They will be placed by the entrance to the airport and at a location on Bulwer Avenue, close to where the aggregate is being unloaded from incoming boats.

Motorists have been warned of the changes to the road layout, which includes the replacement of a filter.

It was announced this week that the location of a concrete factory due to be constructed for the scheme had changed.

Rather than placing it at the airport, it was assembled in a field opposite, meaning it would more than 100m away from the nearest house.

It has been placed in the same location as an asphalt batching plant, which has also been specially built for the work.
