What's your driving like?

Jersey's Road Safety Panel are offering islanders the chance to have their driving skills assessed.

The Panel is encouraging drivers - especially those who are older or who have been driving for a long time - to get behind the wheel with an advanced driving instructor.

They will check your driving during the 30-minute test and let you know if there are any areas you need to improve on. They can also tell you what you are doing well.

The tests are being offered next Saturday - 24 November - and are part of Road Safety Week, which kicks off this coming Monday.



If you are interested the details are below:

*Time: Between 9.30am and 3.00pm

*Venue: Jacksons main showroom at St Peter

*Must have a clean driving licence which they must bring with them for checking

*They will be using cars provided by Jacksons which will be with manual gears (No automatic cars)

*They will be driving under Jacksons insurance which they will have to sign to use. There is a collision damage waiver.

*The drive will last around 30 minutes and they will receive a score and any relevant feedback to help them.

*Drives will need to book their drive by calling the road safety officer Philip Blake on 612222 or via email p.blake@jersey.pnn.police.uk

*Open to all drivers, up to a maximum of 10 entrants

Aimed at "especially those that are older...." What can they mean? Is there an age range in mind here?

Bit sensitive Dell? As a septagenarian I'd be happy to take another test.I've taken loads.A bike, car and truck test in Oz.Car and bike in UK and a car test in Guernsey.

When you look at the standard of some of the drivers on the roads, I think re-tests are long overdue!
