More double deckers?
There could soon be more double deckers on Jersey's roads.
The Transport Minister is calling for LibertyBus to use them on more routes, and increase services, to encourage more islanders to ditch their cars.
The announcement comes on the anniversary of LibertyBus taking over from Connex as the operator of Jersey's public bus service.
The company's first few months were characterised by confusion over new routes and timetables, and industrial disputes between drivers and management, which culminated in strike action.
LibertyBus say those relations are now much smoother, though the Unite union describes the firm as "an aggressive employer".
The Transport Minister, Deputy Kevin Lewis, says he hopes 2014 will be the year additional routes are added to the network, and the distinction between the summer and winter timetable is further blurred in a push to a year-round level of service.
