Alderney Tidal Power plans to be discussed

States Meeting is to be held on 10th November at which the States will be asked:

• To approve the Renewable Energy (Alderney) Ordinance, 2008 and direct that the same shall have effect as an Ordinance of the States.
  
• To approve the terms and conditions of a Master Power Generation Licence to be made between the Alderney Commission for Renewable Energy and Alderney Renewable Energy Limited.
  
• Subject to the above, to authorise the Alderney Commission for Renewable Energy to enter into the Master Power Generation Licence and to grant the rights, undertake and exercise the obligations and powers contained in that licence, noting in particular that it grants rights and accepts restrictions over or in relation to the seabed and territorial waters of the Island of Alderney, and subject further to the States of Alderney issuing such directions to the Commission as may be approved by the States under the Ordinance as to the manner in which the Commission may exercise the powers contained in the Ordinance.
  
• There will be the usual People's Meeting following publication of the November Billet but, in addition to this, a Public Meeting is to be held at 7.00 p.m. on 28th October in the Island Hall at which there will be a presentation by the Commission followed by a question and answer session with a panel comprising Commissioners, States Members Richard Willmott and Colin Williams, and the States Chief Executive David Jeremiah.
