Bikers warned over rule changes
Motorcyclists have been warned to check their licences after a change in the rules for automatic and manual bike riders in Guernsey.
The changes were made to close a loophole which allowed riders who passed tests on automatic bikes to ride manual ones.
As from 1 January anyone learning to drive an automatic bike is now restricted to riding automatics only.
Those taught on manual bikes are still able to ride both manual and automatic.
The Environment Department said the rules had been changed for road safety reasons.
It a law that should of been sorted years ago....

Re: Bikers warned over rule changes
Having ridden both i cannot see a problem it is not rocket science is it , the only problem i can see is the CC of the machine ie if all you have ridden is a scooter then upgrade to a 1000cc the power difference is huge and that is what i would say in dangerous. Just a side note i think the cc you can drive on your car licence should be raised to 100cc imo.
