Barratts and PriceLess closes stores

Stylo, the shoe retailer that operates 380 Barratts and PriceLess stores, had trading in its shares suspended

Shoe shops have suffered alongside the rest of the retail sector as consumer confidence has faltered.

The Aim-listed company's requested the suspension pending clarification of its strategic options, adding that a further announcement would be made in due course.

Another retailer in trouble...

It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Just heard on the radio Barratts have gone into Administration

thought they might as they have just had a clearence sale at very low prices

Another one....oh boy...we will have no shops left soon in our town!!

That is sad news....

It is sad...not that i buy from there often....never found them a good fit really...shame to see another empty shop in town though...and sorry for those who will be out of work .....

so sad for the staff .....i bought a few pairs of shoes for daughter from there.good quality reasonable price

Jersey's branch of the shoe retailers Barratts is to remain open.
The administrator of Stylo, which owns the Barratts and PriceLess chains, is closing 220 stores nationally, with the loss of 2,500 jobs.
But Angie Blanche, the manager of the St Helier shop said she had been told the King Street store would remain open, with no job losses.
In Guernsey however, it is unclear whether or not the St Peter Port branch of the shoe shop will close.
Deloitte confirmed more than 300 stores and concession outlets have been sold nationally, saving about 3,000 posts.

such a shame as there will only be very expensive shoe shops left if barratts guernsey closes

When will it end????? no for a long while methinks!
