7 jobs to go as Barratts in Jersey close
The shoe retailer is closing its St Helier store in January.
Barratts says the reason for that is they have been unable to agree a new lease with their landlord.
However, the retailer insists it's looking to relocate elsewhere in town if a suitable deal can be agreed.
They are currently looking at other potential sites.
Channelonline understands a 'major retailer' is set to replace Barratts on King Street. The signing of a contract is imminent but not yet agreed.
The Guernsey branch of Barratts is unaffected, and will continue to trade as normal.
