What to do with 500,000 Christmas cards?
It's reckoned that right now almost half a million Christmas cards are adorning living rooms across Guernsey.
When the festive period is over, islanders are being encouraged to recyclye not only their cards, but also the many tonnes of other Christmas rubbish like wrapping paper, plastic bottles, beer cans and even mince pie trays.
The Public Services Department is putting out 40 extra bins at the main eight sites for glass, tins and cans and additional cardboard bins at Vazon and Manor Stores and there will be extra collections to deal with the seasonal surplus.
