Jersey parents to 'ensure children behave in school'
Jersey politician has told parents they have a responsibility to make sure their children behave well in school.
Deputy Trevor Pitman is leading a review into school suspensions, which had its last public hearing on Friday.
He said the number of students temporarily excluded varied from school to school, with the fee-paying schools reporting the fewest suspensions.
Deputy Pitman said: "Parental responsibility is obviously the key at the very heart of all of it."
He added: "Teachers must maintain that tool... to suspend as a final step in the process, but it should be a last resort." (from BBC)
