Education admin staff 'do not get teacher holidays'
Administration staff in Guernsey's Education Department do not have the same amount of paid leave as teachers, the department has said.
The department said it had to clarify its employment terms after suggestions on internet blogs that admin staff had 12 or 13 weeks of paid holiday.
The department said administration work was carried out by civil servants.
It said they were employed on civil service pay and conditions, including normal service holiday entitlements.
The department suggested that any confusion could have related to three specific staff who were employed as advisory teachers for careers, information technology, and personal and social education.
These were qualified teachers who worked term time-only, it said. (from BBC)
