Mark Mauger, 14, passed away last week following numerous operations in the UK.

A SCHOOL is in mourning after losing one of its brightest and most well-loved pupils.

Mark Mauger, 14, passed away last week following numerous operations in the UK. He was a keen gymnast, winning two golds and a bronze at this year’s Special Olympics in Jersey.

He attended St Sampson’s High School, where head of year Aaron Oliva described him as a popular student.

Despite serious problems with his heart and lungs, Mark never let his condition get in the way and attended many school functions, he said. ‘Pupils and teachers at the Baubigny school are extremely upset by his death.’
