Car modification. It's a dark art, really. There are some people who can eke out small nuances in car designs and give their chariot a whole new look. They can add a few little things (or take them away) and create a whole new look with ease. Similarly, there are some who just get it wrong.

We've taken it upon ourselves to have a look at some of the best and worst exhaust mods on offer. Some are brilliant, a few are over-ambitious and there are a couple that are just plain awful.

Sometimes these cars get a harsh judgment for no real reason, why not see them (well, their exhausts, in this case) as little works of engineering ingenuity. Or catastrophic failures. But we'll leave it to you to decide which is which.

So take a little time and look at what can be done with a little bit of elbow grease...
