Guernsey Top prize money for annual race

The biggest prize in Channel Island racing history will be up for grabs at Guernsey's annual L'Ancresse Race Day.
Work has begun to transform the Vale common into a sporting arena, with race organisers busy preparing the course for the May Bank Holiday racing.
Protective rails have been erected and grass reseeded where necessary to turn the public land into a race course.
Prize money of £5,000 will be shared by the owners of the first three horses in the third race on Monday.
The event usually attracts thousands of spectators.
