Guernsey's Social Security Department has warned of an email scam being sent to islanders.

The emails are fake job offers, pretending to be from the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

They detail offers of employment from various bogus email addresses under the PEH name, and inform individuals that they must obtain an "Entry Clearance Prior Certificate" issued by the Social Security "Ministry" before they can make a "visa application" to work in Guernsey.

Upon emailing the bogus SSD address, the person is then told they must pay £750 for their certificate, as well as provide copies of their passport details.

Islands are advised that these emails are ebtirely fraudulent and SSD and the Health and Social Services Department are working with Guernsey police to investigate the scam.

Anyone receiving such emails is advised to delete them immediately and contact the Police on 725111, and under no circumstances part with any money or procide passport details. (from CTV)
