Horses shot at in sick & twisted attack

POLICE are investigating an incident in the early hours of Saturday which saw horses put through a terrifying ordeal.

The animals were shot at and pelted with potatoes in what the owner is calling a sick and twisted attack. Three horses were chased around their field at Pleinmont. Police are looking into the attack after they received two phone calls at 4.30 and 5.30am from nearby neighbours.

Owner Sue Gallienne, 40, is disgusted with the way her horses were abused.

‘I think it is absolutely sick that someone can do this to innocent animals. They were just minding their own business in the field when whoever it was purposely broke the gate, which is very heavy, and drove around the field scaring the horses, shooting at them with BB guns and hitting them with potatoes,’ she said (from gep)
