Oops they did it again.

I had a phone call today to say that one of the big diggers down at longue Houge slid down bank it was working on straight into the water completely submerging it ,Apparently it was only a few months old . as if that is bad enough its not the first one to go over the edge Their ackermann digger went over sometime ago that was quite new at the time also.

I wonder if there will be an inquiry ? They are not cheap at a guess i would say about 40 to 60 grand each.

If you or I did that, we would have H&S munching at our bol***ks.

This has been kept quiet has it not . Did they think that no one would find out , and i wonder how much it cost to repair it .

Are you suggesting that the States do not operate in the way that they insist everyone else does?

Was the driver injured?
Were H&S involved?
Do the States have acceptable levels of insurance for the staff who are working in this - apparently - dangerous area?
Raises a number of questions really, doesn't it!

the States hopefully are insured because the other day im indoors and me took a walk down there and from this side of the marina/quarry we could see several children playing on the large digger (in the mud and sliding all over the place) they were of course having a ball.......but an accident waiting to happen!!!!!

I asked the Minister of Public Services the question and he got back to me a short time ago, He tells me that his staff have no knowledge of the incident, I would like to have a lot more details Digger if you have them.
