More islanders Christmas shopping online

Results from a recent poll on CTV website show 42% of you are doing your Christmas shopping soley online, with another 46% using both the high street and the internet.

But that leaves only 12% of people in the Channel Islands taking to the shops in St Helier and St Peter Port - a figure that is concerning retailers.

The streets in Channel Island towns might be packed during late night shopping in the run up to Christmas but the battles for the bargains aren't just here.

Retailers are fighting constant competition as islanders turn to the internet for Christmas presents.

maybe if island shops stopped ripping us off by charging vat plus extra cost for bringing things in then maybe islanders would shop locally...the other thing is we have more choice online than we have in guernseys high street x
