CHARITY boxes in memory of former Venture Garage employee Ben Davies
were stolen days before his funeral when the property was ram-raided on
Saturday evening.
A car, stolen from the same garage and used to break the door down
was found burning in Rue de la Gallie, St Peter’s, about an hour later.

‘It’s just mind-boggling,’ said Venture Garage proprietor, Chris
McClean . ‘There must have been hundreds of pounds in
those boxes and Ben’s photograph was alongside them.


The CCTV footage shows a helmeted person within the Venture Garage premises on Saturday night.


‘Perhaps they [the boxes] should have been put away but you don’t
expect people to break in and do that sort of thing. It’s just
unthinkable and we don’t need people like that in our society.’

Mr Davies, 25, died in a motorcycle accident in St Peter’s on 8 August. His funeral is tomorrow.
