A WAR game which is illegal in many countries could be allowed in a field in Trinity.
A planning application has been submitted to turn the site into a simulated battle zone at weekends so that people can play Airsofting, a game in which people fire biodegradable pellets at each other from replica guns.
Planning are recommending the approval of Christopher Pace’s application for a one-year trial in field 1443, Route des Côtes du Nord, but a final decision will be made by a Planning applications panel tomorrow.
So far, concerns have been raised over traffic issues and the potential impact on the environment. Lawyer Paul de Gruchy (36), of Trinity, said: ‘Airsofting is illegal in Australia, Holland and Argentina and in the UK airsoft replicas are classified as realistic imitation firearms. It would be hard to think of a more inappropriate use of land in a rural area popular with tourists and local people.’ (from thisisjersey)

Its seems a little harsh to stop something like this, Give it a trial for a year then decide...
