Re: CHIEF MINISTER Lyndon Trott "'Hypocrisy' resented by minister"
Brehaut is a pussy. I think he wanted pity from the public and some gave it because they thought he was the victim here.... Sack Trott and rap the knuckles of Brehaut for wasting public time and sympathy. We do have some good States members who are being tarnished with the brush of Trott and Brehaut......it sickens me.

Whilst I fully agree with your comments Thistle and Kat I can not help thinking that BB is a wimp and wanted pity from the public. A nice person does not do underhanded things and then take all the praise, all is not what it seems mark my words. Trotts no angel but neither is BB I saw him in his true colours during the election…..nice is not what I saw…….

Re: CHIEF MINISTER Lyndon Trott "'Hypocrisy' resented by minister"
Is there anything we can do about this this man should be sacked what hold does he have over the rest of the States . I have spoken to loads of people and not one has said they trusted Trott . I think i got it right Tefal Trott. How the hell did he get in lets hope they get island wide voting for the next house that's if there is anything left that is.

Re: CHIEF MINISTER Lyndon Trott "'Hypocrisy' resented by minister"
Trott got in because he had the vote of the dark men and women in power who run the island.......the finance industry and the masons. We can shout and scream as much as we like it will not make any difference we have no power he and they do.....they make the x files look and read like the beano. Brehaut should have pushed the complaint so he holds 50% of the blame. he is not the victim but one of the perpetrators he had no intention of following up his complaint and he knows that and so does Trott. Ask yourself why the whole sorry saga was leaked to the press….it smells of Brehaut seeking sympathy and trott gauging how the public feel about him before we have a cabinet style gov.......

Chief minister may soon be giving an annual speech.
GUERNSEY’S chief minister could soon be delivering an annual speech
along the same lines as the US president’s State of the Union Address.
Deputy John Gollop put the idea forward during question time yesterday.
He believed the speech could be a means of delivering a vision to
all deputies that identified a sense of direction and the key aims and
goals that the States wanted to achieve in the coming year.
Chief Minister Lyndon Trott told the House that he and the Policy Council agreed.
He said that some form of speech summing up the experience of the
past and setting out a vision for the future was one of the defining
characteristics of independent jurisdictions and nations.
‘By embracing such a tradition, Guernsey will provide yet a further
sign to the international community that it is an independent
jurisdiction able and willing to assert its identity.’
I have heard it all now . Will you take time out to listen to it ?

CHIEF MINISTER Lyndon Trott "To be your leader I must have real power’"
To be your leader I must have real power’
CHIEF MINISTER Lyndon Trott has outlined a case for more power to be given to his position.
In a presentation to the Confederation of Guernsey Industry yesterday, he also said that since the machinery of government changes, the answer to who was the island’s leader was simple - the chief minister.
In the past a visitor might have been taken to the Lt-Governor, the Bailiff or the president of the former Advisory and Finance Committee, he said.
‘The elected leader of the States of Deliberation is the chief minister, the first among equals, and therefore I would like to think that, today, most people would direct the visitor to Sir Charles Frossard House and my office,’ said Deputy Trott.
‘Now why is this so important? Well, increasingly, the role of chief minister is on the international stage and around the negotiating table.’
Deputy Trott said the problem was that the chief minister had authority without power.(from thisisguernsey)
Whoo The man wants to be "King" of Guernsey...lol

Re: CHIEF MINISTER Lyndon Trott "'Hypocrisy' resented by minister"
I think i need a drink! You know someone once told me watch this bloke he wants to rule the island and he wont care who gets in his way on his way to the top . I give him 10 out of 10 for trying but lets face it who would let him get away with it , mind having said that they did vote him in as Chief Minister (numpties) .
Can you picture it you invite a VIP over here to see the island and have to say oh this is the top man , well IMO that would scare the s**t out of them and me.
I think they (The States) should keep a close eye on this man before it is to late , and as for more power NO WAY make him take every decision to the assembly. I can't believe this man!

I have just heard him on Radio Gsy in an interview about St Sampson's school they interviewed Jane Stephens first then two thumbs , They asked what he thought of the school his first words were " I was voted in as chief Minister and i will ............" What has being Chief Minister got to do with the school ? I think this guy is losing it big time it will be "do you know who i am next you see".
Make no mistake when you talk to me you are communicating with the most powerful person in the bailiwick.

Pete, I have put in bold a statement that you have made which I think is incorrect and you can not prove. You have effectively said that the finance centre en bloc is corrupt which is totally wrong and sensationalism based on pie in the sky. You may get away with stating that the system is used by criminals to further crime but to call the system corrupt is a tad out of order and unfounded.
As for LT you have to admire the man he's got some balls but he is on an ego trip, and the states did have a sort of chance to get rid of him but they chose not to. I suppose we get what we deserve.

Do you work in finance?
where is your proof that LT's got balls?
We only get what we deserve via the ballot box because the voting system may very well be flawed.

It seems that you hold twisted views on several different issues. The finance sector is the backbone of our economy, without it the island would quite simply go bankrupt. I do not advocate bending over backwards to accomodate every desire of the industry (which quite clearly does not happen at the moment, housing licences being a relevant issue) however we must realise that if the industry were to vanish then the knock on effect would be catastrophic. Builders, retail sector, pubs, restaurants, taxi drivers etc, all of them a to a very large extent are dependent on finance.
You can harp on about how good it was in the old days (as you seem to do about Sark) why can't we go back to growing tomatoes blah blah blah, but you are basically living in cloud cuckoo land. What a relief you didn't make it into the States, the amount of time wasted by your pointless whining would have been intolerable.

Re: CHIEF MINISTER Lyndon Trott "'Hypocrisy' resented by minister"
‘Why act as if we have a cabinet?’
THE chief minister’s plan to make a “State of the States” speech is poor judgement, according to Deputy Barry Brehaut (pictured).
Deputy Lyndon Trott faced fierce criticism over his handling of the international identity framework agreement - he wanted to sign it without the approval of the Assembly - and is now on a collision course with deputies after announcing he intends to give a speech outlining the key issues and goals of government for the next 12 months.
The framework issue was eventually debated by the States last week after Deputy Matt Fallaize had handed the chief minister a letter signed by 23 deputies urging him to bring it before the Assembly.
Deputy Fallaize looks set to submit another letter signed by more than 20 colleagues offering support to the States Assembly and Constitution Committee, which has opposed Deputy Trott’s speech plans.
Deputy Barry Brehaut sent an email to all deputies, including the chief minister, yesterday bemoaning Deputy Trott’s decision.
‘The speech will be a bemusing, unnecessary, confusing spectacle. There has been no petition for this speech from the floor of the chamber by, shall we say, 16 members or more,’ he said. (from BBC News)

You dare patronize and abuse a poster because I dare question the workings of the finance sector. I don’t look through rose tinted spectacles which you seem to do. You say we do not bend over backwards to accommodate the FS, look around you or are you a blinkered high paid none local finance worker who lives on another planet. I don’t need someone like you preaching to me about the implications of the finance industry leaving our shores but we do not and should not be held to ransom by an industry that is far from squeaky clean. It’s all about a working partnership and sadly our heritage, architecture and local population has been decimated. You mention Sark of which you obviously know little about and ridicule the past industries of the island. It is people like you whose ears and eyes are closed who will never ever compromise just insult those who actually do care……..Bring it on.........

Here are two points :
Pete : " look around you or are you a blinkered high paid none local finance worker who lives on another planet."
Technophobe : "What a relief you didn't make it into the States, the amount of time
wasted by your pointless whining would have been intolerable".
A little bit on the personal side don't you think. But a good debate nevertheless.
