Six women in Stamford, Connecticut, have been arrested over the alleged assault of a karaoke singer whose singing they didn’t like.

The six, four aged 19 and two aged 20, are said to have attacked Leidy Alcantara, 25, as she performed a song by Colombian singer Juanes.
In unusually dry language, the Stamford Police Department said in a press release that the six “made derogatory comments about the the other female’s singing ability (or lack thereof)”, before embarking on a sustained assault, punching, kicking and pulling the hair of Miss Alcantara.
Witnesses followed the six and pointed them out to police officers who had responded to an emergency call.
The six are charged with assault, conspiracy to commit assault, and breach of the peace, and have been released after posting $500 bail each.
They are scheduled to appear before a court on 5 October.
Miss Cantara was left with a chipped tooth and several bruises, and was treated at a nearby hospital. (from times)
