Liberation Day Drinking
The total ban on alcohol on the streets of town has caused mixed opinions. Some welcome it whereas other say that it is using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Should we consider adopting this Australian idea as a sensible middle ground?

Re: Liberation Day Drinking
Razz reckons (and he is somewhat of an expert on the subject!) that every time they put his favourite tipple (in Australia) up in price (Carlton Draught) they put the strength down!!! He couldn't understand why the Bavarian lager he was drinking here at first knocked him out - until I told him he was drinking the same number of cans and the strength was 9% - go figure LOL

Re: Liberation Day Drinking
Australian beer isn't strong, and despite what they like to think the Aussies are terrible drinkers. Many a time I've had to pour them into a cab after a session on VB or Swan.
That said, there aren't many nationalities who can drink a born and bred Guernseyman under the table. Not sure if that's something to be proud of or not, but we've certainly got a well deserved reputation for guzzling beer.
