The first signs of Christmas here

never mind jersey .christmas has been in lots of guernsey shops since september.

With shops selling christmas stuff before the summer season, let alone autumn, has finished just stretches christmas out. Over the years this has diluted the whole christmas atmosphere that used to be apparent in town. By the time christmas has arrived you just want it to be all over.

That's why for the past few years we have not 'celebrated' the 'spendfest' but go away to our French retreat - where we are sure not to be bombarded - and where we eat a normal everyday diet and come back feeling refreshed instead of bloated and broke! and it is the purely commercial aspect of the whole holiday that killed the ambiance for us!

won,t be having the usual christmas celebrations here this year either. a very scaled down event .

fcuk the credit crunch, i'm going all out this chrimbo...

new toys for the nippers ( and me ), loads of food, drink etc etc.

the only time of year i get to wind down and i love it !

I love christmas......I love giving pressies....I love the whole feel of it....Christmas is a special time for me and my family........

It will be a different Christmas this year ,most years i organize lots for the church ,this year i wont be able to do this as my legs are too bad .But we will be having a good Christmas dinner ,even if i have to give hubby his orders .
As for decorations the Grand children will do this for me as they love it .
presents will be vouchers .
All to spend in the most important sales after Christmas .
