Calls renewed for safety officer in Guernsey
There are renewed calls for a road safety officer in Guernsey, from a pedestrian safety group in the island.
Living Streets first made calls for the post in 2006 and is also calling for a crackdown on the use of mobile phones by drivers and driving on pavements.
Pat Wisher, a member of the group, said they want a road safety officer as "a lot more happens when someone is dedicated to a particular role".
The group aims to put 16 questions to the island's chief of police.
George Le Page has agreed to talk at the group's meeting on 19 November.
The questions include the rules governing provisional licences for scooter drivers and the speed limits in residential and urban areas (from BBC)

Nothing wrong with mounting pavements to pass, perfectly legal. Just should not be done at 35mph.
