Public parking to go up for rent
Public car parking spaces in one corner of Beau Sejour leisure centre's grounds are being offered for rent.
The culture and leisure minister said the rent of £100-a-month per space would help pay for the centre's upkeep.
Deputy Mike O'Hara said it makes commercial sense to rent them out to pay for property maintenance.
The 30 spaces within L'Hyvreuse car park in the south west corner of the centre are due to go up for rent early in the new year.
Deputy O'Hara said the department is after the market rate for the spaces.
Nearby residents will be offered some guaranteed parking spaces in the main Beau Sejour car park at the same time. (fromBBC)
mmm ah well its only a start how many more states departments will start renting out thier parking..
