Boys aged 10 charged with raping eight-year

Two 10-year-old boys have been charged with raping a girl in west London.
Each faces two counts of attacking a female under the age of 13 following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, the Metropolitan Police said.
They were arrested after an eight-year-old alleged she had been assaulted while playing in a park off College Way, Hayes, on 27 October.
The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
Police were called by the girl's family after she returned home from the park.
Officers from the specialist Sapphire Unit, which investigates allegations of rape and sexual assault, have been dealing with the case. (from BBC)

This is so sad 10 year olds being able to do this sort thing, where have they learnt it from?

this is awful as you say GD where did they learn about these things from .at 10 years old they should still be playing with toys.

At 10 i was still playing with my barbie.....at 44 i now think i am barbie...lol

But all jokes aside.........I was shocked reading this......

When I read this in the paper back in October - the most shocking part about it was that it was intimated by the police and prosection council that she was a very 'knowing' 8 year old and had been asking for it!!!!! and at that time they were not going to take it any further.....now almost 2 months later something is being done!!! doesn't make sense at all.....

Where have they learnt this from? The media, television, comics/magazines, the school playground. They are bombarded with suggestive information daily. What was regarded as adult entertainment 20 years ago is now seen as suitable for any age. Alchohol is glamourised in much the same way so is there any wonder that these incidents happen.

Maybe we should make the parents of all children between 10 and 16 face the same charge alongside them.

They are, after all, legally rsponsible for their welfare and behaviour.

All people are different - I am sick to death of saying that our children were bought up in exactly the same manner - but one went wrong and the other didn't! - so STOP blaming the parents it is too easy to do that.....2 kids both with the same upbringing......perhaps kingcolemk you are chilldless at the best - at the worst you are intolerant...everybody is their own person regardless of their upbringing......I know I have them both. and there comes a moment in time when your kids have to stop blaming their upbringing by parent who did not have a hand book!!!

May I remind you that we are talking about 10 year olds here. Not teenagers who are moving away from the influence of their parents.

I admittedly hav'nt seen the newpaper reports, only what I've read on this thread.

But I cant help but wonder if this has been blown out of all proportion. Who's to say that it was'nt a game of Doctors and Nurses that went a bit too far.

At ten years old, how can a child be held responsible for rape, he's still a baby himself.

I could'nt agree more with you Karma. Parents ALWAYS get the blame when their kids do something wrong. Sometimes it's just beyond the control of the parent.

I blame the behaviour of kids today on parents not being able to parent their kids without fear of repercussions. I know here in Australia the kids are taught in Kindie that if your parents are "bad" to you call the police. A friend of mine who was repremanding their son after he had been caught doing something wrong had the police called on them. They were only shouting at him, nothing physical, but the police were called anyway. No action was taken, but they're frightened now to even raise their voices at him. Thats just wrong.

And you think that they are learning by example??? No they are learning from peer pressure/TV/magazines etc etc!!! Mary Whitehouse must be rocking with mirth in her grave.....she predicted what children would turn out like if TV was not tempered! Also some of the 'so called' childrens games glorify abuse of all types together with making killing a glamorous thing.......what can you expect children to behave like when parents are not even allowed to raise their voices, let alone their hands to them?

I agree with all you've said there, but it is the job of a parent to combat all these undesirable outside influences. Not to just ignore it and allow their child to be influenced by it. Unfortunately too many parents don't see anything wrong with the horrendous stuff churned out by the media and are happy to allow their child to copy it all. These are the kind of parents I'm saying need to be accused alongside their child. Sometimes maybe even in place of their child.
