What is the point of Boxing Day?
Today's expected to be the busiest shopping day of 2009 but for others Boxing Day means saddling to hunt. What does the day mean to you?
Traditionally held on the day after Christmas the day is meant to be about goodwill to those less fortunate however it has become more synonymous with retail sales and fox hunting.
The environment secretary has been out campaigning for support of the fox hunting ban amid fears from supporters of the law, that a Conservative government would scrap it, if elected after June.
Meanwhile, across other parts of Britain, bargain-hunters queued up while waiting for shops to open, hoping to find a good Boxing Day deal.
What, for you, is the point of Boxing Day?
Do you support the ban on fox hunting?
Did you avoid buying things in the lead up to Christmas, hoping to get them on the cheap afterwards?

I'd also add this to the topic title; What is the point of Christmas?
A time for people to buy all sorts of crap they don't need and pretend to like others who they don't see or hear from at any other time of the year.
It ought to be banned.
