Jersey States removal threat for Senator Stuart Syvret
Jersey politician could be thrown out of the States if he does not return to the island soon.
Senator Stuart Syvret has been in "self-imposed exile" in the UK since last October and has missed about 20 States sittings.
Now the Privileges and Procedures Committee has said Mr Syvret must be back in Jersey by the middle of April.
If not, he could be removed from office under States law, committee chairman Constable Juliette Gallichan said.
An arrest warrant was issued last year when Mr Syvret failed to appear at an abuse of process hearing into his arrest for data protection and motoring offences.
The 44-year-old former health minister said in October he left Jersey because he feared he would not get a fair trial.
He has been staying in London at the flat of Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming, who claimed Mr Syvret was seeking asylum on legal grounds. (from BBC)
He should be removed if he fails to return, how can the States of Jersey justify paying him when he is not doing his job...

It's true, whenever I feel that this island could not possibly be goverened any worse, I have a quick read of the JEP.
Their lot make our lot look like the utopian council of elders.

I'm exactly the same, the Jersey States are quite frankly disgusting. If I lived over there I'd be taking direct action against some of them, I can't believe the crapauds put up with what they do.

Reminds me how blessed I am to be living in Guernsey when I see how badly the Jersey lot do things. Then again, you only have to turn the screw another degree and see how we both have it so good when compared with the UK. And the UK lot could probably do the same in respect of Zimbabwe or a multitude of other places.
It's all relative I suppose.
Techno - what "direct action" would you take, and against who, and how and on what basis and what for? Presumably more than a letter of complaint in the Daily Mail?
