Syvret to stand for Senator
FORMER Senator Stuart Syvret announced outside the Royal Court yesterday his intention to stand in the forthcoming election.
He said that he would be basing his candidacy on an anti-corruption campaign.
Speaking just minutes before he was sentenced to 80 hours’ community service for contempt of court, motoring and data protection offences, Mr Syvret said that he would be standing as a Senator .
In a statement that he issued earlier that morning, he claimed that Jersey’s administration and other facets of power in the Island had been riddled with corruption for decades. (from JEP)
Re: Syvret to stand for Senator
And presumably there is nothing to stop him doing so?
Interesting the comment he makes about corruption... yet he received Community Service which some may consider is no punishment...... and it's not what you know but who you know!!
Will the media picture him doing his Community Service I wonder?
