World Cup legends to visit

ISLANDERS have the chance to rub shoulders with three World Cup legends at a Jersey charity’s tenth birthday party next month.
Eusebio, Carlos Alberto and Ossie Ardiles will be the special guests at the Le Tournoi football tournament and party, which will both be held over the weekend of 22 and 23 May.
Le Tournoi vice-chairman John Hanley said that they were delighted to have secured the trio.
He said: ‘We have developed a great relationship with the Professional Footballers Association over the years and we asked if they could help us celebrate out tenth birthday in any way – I never imagined for a second that we’d be hosting three of the World Cup’s all-time greats!’ The stars will attend the Le Tournoi birthday party at the Radisson on Saturday 22 May, where the Champions League final will be shown on a big screen. They have also asked to spend time at Les Quennevais on Sunday, watching Jersey’s largest football tournament unfold as more than 1,200 players take part. (from JEP)
