Legion to benefit from Guernsey's Liberation Ale sales

The Royal British Legion is to benefit from the sale of ale in Guernsey.
Ten pence from every pint of Liberation Ale which is sold in four local pubs on 8 and 9 May will be donated to the legion.
The organisation raises money throughout the year to support current and former armed forces personnel.
Celebrations will be held around the island next month to mark the 1945 liberation of the Channel Islands from German occupation during World War II.
Barry Cash, Guernsey's Royal British Legion co-ordinator, said it was important the charity joined up with companies for this sort of initiative.
Occupation brewing
The cask-conditioned real ale was produced for the first time last year by the Liberation Group's Jersey Brewery.
The group owns 67 pubs and restaurants in the Channel Islands - 43 in Jersey, 22 in Guernsey and two in Alderney.
Jersey Brewery, which was established in about 1870, continued to brew beer during World War I and throughout the German occupation in World War II.
The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by Nazi Germany during the war. (from BBC)
